It is with great pride and tremendous sense of responsibility for me to become Superintendent. I believe that Wolfe City is a great place to work, live, and raise a family. Having been in the district for several years as a math teacher, then principal, I have developed a love and appreciation for the school staff, kids, and community. We are truly blessed with the people that make Wolfe City and Wolfe City ISD special.
As we plot our course through these troubled times of school finance, others, especially in Austin, are attacking our entire system of public schools. Funding is decreasing, while requirements and regulations from the state are increasing. The burden placed on the local taxpayers, then redistributed by the state, is enormous. We are working within these parameters to lead Wolfe City back to financial and fiscal stability that our kids deserve.
The greatest attribute of the people of Wolfe City ISD is their desire to see the kids succeed. Each decision, from the smallest to the largest, from the staff to the school board, is weighed against the idea, "what's best for the kids." This is truly the way it is supposed to be, and I am proud that thought pattern is evident in Wolfe City.
I know there are challenges ahead for our community, leadership, staff, and students. I also know that we will work together to conquer these challenges and continue down the path of success that is evident in the great history of Wolfe City and the Wolfe City Independent School District.
If I or our leadership team can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.
