Wildlife

 

Wildlife education emphasizes conservation and preservation of animal and plant species and development of habitat.

 

Animal and plant species identification, habitat requirements and needs of animals is emphasized.

 

Hunting and hunter safety is taught to expose students to the conservation aspects of the sport.

 

Students will have the opportunity to receive their Hunter’s Safety Certification, which is a lifetime certification in Texas and is transferable to other states.

 

 

First 9 Weeks

 

  • Courser introduction and requirements and discuss FFA / Individual shop skills
  • Discuss competencies needed to be competitive and successful in the job market / Individual shop skills
  • Texas Hunter Safety Course Individual shop skills
  • Identify basic ecological concepts of wildlife management / Individual shop skills
  • Identification of game and nonage species of wildlife and fish / Individual shop skills
  • Students will learn areas of importance of management and reasons for laws relating to wildlife management / Individual shop skills
  • Students will learn and be able to understand laws regarding wildlife and outdoor recreation / Individual shop skills
  • Students will learn laws that are related to recreational safety and the use of public lands / Individual shop skills
  • Student will learn about land owners rights and responsibility and the relation ship to the public / Individual shop skills
