Accelerated Reader (AR) will be used again this year.

7^th grade students will be required to get 22 points each nine weeks.

8^th grade students will be required 24 points each nine weeks.

The first nine weeks each student must read one non-fiction book and at least 2 chapter books.

The second nine weeks each student will read only one half point non-fiction book and one realistic fiction book.

The third nine weeks they will read only one half point non-fiction book and one mystery.

The fourth nine weeks they will read only one 1 point non-fiction book and one historical fiction book.

The students can choose other books to read each nine weeks, but they do need to meet the above requirements for each grading period.

I will be taking 2 test grades each grading period from AR. One grade will be based on points obtained, and the other grade will be based on their comprehension.
