DRIVERS EDUCATION

INFORMATION:

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Drivers Education will be offered again this year. As in the past the state will grant 1/2 credit toward graduation for successful completion of this course.

The classroom portion will begin on April 16^th 2007 and last for approximately 30 school days. This will allow for only two (2) absences by the student. If extenuating circumstances arise we will consider alternative make-up days. Classes will meet from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. each day.

After successful completion of the classroom phase the student will be eligible to take the written exam to obtain his/her beginners permit. This entitles the student to drive provided there is a licensed driver 21 years or older in the front seat.

The laboratory phase or behind the wheel training will begin on May 29^th. Each student must have seven (7) hours of behind the wheel training and observation time before completion of this phase. Driving groups and times will be determined at a later date.

Due to an increase in our expenses (gas) we must raise the tuition for this course. The total cost for both phases of drivers training will increase form $200.00 to $225.00 and must be paid in full by the first class day (April 16^th). Fees may be paid out over a given time period if you wish. If you wish to make monthly payments, the minimum amount per month is $25.00. Please make checks payable to Wolfe City I.S.D. Enrollment is limited to 30 students. The deadline for enrollment is April 13^th, 2007. A deposit is required to reserve your space.
