    May 2019 General Election Update

    The Wolfe City Independent School District will conduct a Board of Trustee election on May 4, 2019 to elect (3) full-term (3 years) Board of Trustee members.

    Full term seats up for election are: Ola Owens, David Caldwell, and Julie Cupp.


    Dates to Remember

    • Wednesday, Jan. 16: First day to file application for a place on the ballot
    • Friday, Feb. 15: Deadline to order the May general election and last day to file an application for a place on the ballot
    • Tuesday, Feb. 19: Deadline to file declaration of write-in candidacy
    • Thursday, April 4: Last day to register to vote or make a change of address effective for the May election
    • Thursday, April 4 – Monday, April 15: Notice of Election is published
    • Monday, April 22 – Tuesday, April 30: Early Voting
    • Saturday, May 4: Election Day
  • What is a Board of Trustees Election?

    The Wolfe City ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven members serving terms of three years, with an election held annually. One-third of the terms, or as close to one-third as possible, expires each year. The body of state and local policy that pertains most directly to the Board of Trustees consists of 24 sections.   • Who is eligible for candidacy?

    • A United States citizen;
    • A qualified registered voter in the district;
    • At least 18 years of age;
    • Have not been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment of a court;
    • Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities;
    • A resident of the district for six months and resident of the state for 12 months before the filing deadline; and
    • Satisfy any other eligibility requirements prescribed by law for the office.
    • Trustees must retain all qualifications while in office.
