
Results of the 2023 Texas State Beta Convention
Gracie Angel- 4th Place Biomedical Health Science (Grade 12)
Lacy Malone- 3rd Place Drawing Division II
Izzy Mexia- 4th Place Jewelry Division I
Andrew Meador- 2nd Place Language Arts (Grade 12)
Jason Huckeba- 2nd Place Math (Grade 9)
3rd Place Quiz Bowl (Dylan Kemp, Julissa Olvera, Ava Steele, Cynthia Konicek)
Wolfe City has participated in the written quiz bowl competition several times and this year our team advanced to the top 8. The top 8 teams competed in oral rounds of questions in a game show format. Wolfe City eliminated the competition resulting in a 3rd place victory.

Julissa Olvera- 4th Place Spanish (Grade 12)
Convention Growth Award- Convention attendance for your club must grow by at least 10% from the previous year.

Big congratulations to the WCHS Beta students. So far Andrew Meador placed second in senior Language Arts, Gracie Angel placed third in senior Biological Health Sciences, and Jason Huckabe placed second in freshman math. More results coming in, but awesome job Wolfe City high school students and sponsor Jamie Williams.



The Junior Class has a great turnout at their Chili Dinner and Fundraiser. Thank you to all those who donated chili, all our junior parents, everyone who ate, WCISD staff, and our great judges!! Jordan Grandfield won Top Chili, Kelly Cupp won Runner-Up, and Josh Eli won Hottest Chili. Thank you WC for supporting our kids!!

This message is intended for the high school student BETA members only that were participating in the convention this week. The National Beta office is aware of the weather conditions in Texas. They are evaluating the plans for convention and will update sponsors as soon as possible.
I currently do not have internet at my house, but I can get email on my phone in certain locations in my house. Please email if you have any questions. I will do my best to respond. I am also trying to update Google classroom as I have the opportunity.

It is a BIG night in Wolfe City, Texas!! Tonight at WCHS, we have crucial district basketball games against Bland, YSA Night, the last CUB performance, and our Junior Class Chili Dinner and Cook-off. Hope to see you there!!

Accounting students were honored with an informative presentation from financial advisor Sarah Alderman. Ms. Alderman is the owner and CEO of Alderman Financial Group in Commerce. She focused on her career experiences as well as shared financial tips and advise to the students.


Students at WCHS think our faculty and staff are “tweet”! Student Council upcycled old socks, stuffed them with birdseed, and fashioned them into snowmen for Christmas presents that will eventually be fed to the birds. Merry Christmas to all!





Accounting students went on a Christmas shopping spree to reveal mystery pictures! They calculated percentage discounts, sales prices, and money saved. Other students handcrafted Christmas cards to be delivered to overseas troops through the “Cards for the Troops” program.


SPOILER ALERT … Students in Business Applications classes learned Santa’s secret for creating millions of customized children’s letters in the twinkle of an eye. It’s called Mail Merge!


Students in Business Applications composed personal letters of appreciation on Christmas stationery to be delivered to the Veterans Home in Bonham.

More…”Deck the Halls” with decorated doors at the high school. This was a team building activity sponsored by Student Council and held during Advisory classes. Congrats to all the participants!

Wolfe City FFA held their annual Christmas party. The students brought toys that will be donated to the toy drive at City Hall.





January is School Board Recognition Month and WCISD is celebrating its trustees for their dedication and commitment to the district and its students.
Board members serving Wolfe City ISD are: Colt, De, Charmayne, Charolette, Courtney, Jill, and Eric!
