Wolfe City High School would like to welcome a new Teacher's Aide to the LifeSkills classroom! Ms. Katie Chappell was asked about herself and stated, "Hi all! I’m from Commerce, Texas, and I’m currently attending ETAMU. I’ll be graduating in May 2026 with a degree in Business Administration. I recently got engaged on July 5, 2025 and can’t wait to marry my fiancé, Alex. I also have a mini dachshund who means the world to me. I’m so excited for everything ahead, both in my career and personal life!"

Wolfe City High School welcomes a new science teacher! Mrs. Liz Zeller will be teaching Biology and A&P! When asked about herself, she said "I received my Bachelor's of Science degree from Northwestern State University. This is my 9th year of teaching high school science. My hobbies include reading (I ALWAYS have a book near by.), coloring, watching documentaries, and cruising with my husband and adult adopted daughter. I have 3 dogs. My fandoms are: Star Trek, Harry Potter, the NFL, and Disney. I also greatly enjoy studying the Bible! My goal as a high school teacher is to help my students attain a strong sense of college readiness and skills they will need for life after high school."

Wolfe City High School would like to welcome Mrs. Amanda Herron who will be teaching teaching Yearbook, Commercial Photography, Graphic Design. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training, 17 years in education. Photography business owner 10+ years. We are excited to have Mrs. Herron on our WCHS team!

Wolfe City High School would like to share our new staff with the WC community. We will begin our posts with the new Dean of Students for the 2025-2026 school year, Mr. Dough Schmidt. Here is a little about him... "33 years (30 years in high schools, 3 in middle school); Social Studies (most of my career has been U.S. History, APUSH, and Economics), B.S.E. from Ouachita Baptist University and M. Ed. from Lamar University, I am a professional musician and spend a lot of time performing, fishing, reading, and sports; 3 kids (all in Nashville, TN), 2 Step children; 9 grandkids (8 boys); Started my career in Katy, TX as teacher/coach, worked in Nederland, TX, North Mesquite HS; Garland HS, North Garland HS, Rowlett HS, and Community HS." Help us welcome Mr. Schmidt to WCHS!

Noah Adams traveled to Orlando, FL to represent Wolfe City High School at the Senior National Beta Convention. He qualified to compete at this national level in Division I Mixed Media Visual Arts where he was named the National Champion! Congrats, Noah! We are so proud of you!!!




WCHS will offer TSIA2 Math Test Prep and a testing opportunity for WCHS students FREE of charge this summer. The classes will be taught by Mrs. Woodruff at the high school on June 9-12 & 16-19 from 12:30-2:30 pm. A TSIA2 Math test will be offered to students who attend the test prep sessions on Monday, June 23 at 10:00 am. Please email samplej@wcisd.net to sign up. Seats are limited.

WCHS Field Day of Fun will be held tomorrow from 12:00 (after lunch) for the afternoon. There will be tons of fun activities available for students to enjoy with friends! You won't want to miss out on this end of year celebration!

BREAKING NEWS! WCHS Junior Isabelle Patterson is the 2025 UIL Regional 2A Accounting Champion! She will advance to the UIL Academic State Meet in Austin on May 19. Team members, Senior Lexi Stanbery and Junior Bri Garcia, won state team alternate positions.


Academic UIL Regional Qualifiers will be competing in Denison on April 25-26. Isabelle Patterson, Lexi Stanbery, and Bri Garcia qualified as 1st Place District Accounting Team. Calin Fleming qualified as 3rd Place District Prose Interpretation; Mackenzie Guiette qualified as 3rd Place District Social Studies; and Serenity Williams qualified as 4th Place (Alternate) District Poetry Interpretation.
